When commissioning a portrait, I work closely with my clients to ensure you are part of the creative process. From selecting the perfect photo to providing feedback on the final proof, every step is collaborative. Whether you’re commissioning a portrait of a loved one or a family member, I aim to deliver artwork that you’ll treasure for a lifetime
All portraits are drawn on natural white, heavy-duty 300gsm, watercolour paper. Whether you’re looking for a single portrait or a more complex multi-person composition, please get in touch.
Choose a photo:
Select a clear, high-resolution image (preferably 400-600 dpi) where the face is sharp and the eyes are clearly visible. Natural lighting is ideal to avoid the flatness caused by flash photography.
Submit the photo:
Email your chosen photo to me. If you’re unsure which image will work best, you can send multiple photographs to me for my input.
Discuss and pay the deposit:
Once the photo is approved, I will work with you to finalise the details. A 25% deposit is required to start the work, payable via bank transfer or PayPal.
Contact me by email to discuss details of your desired portrait and organise payment. I require a 25% deposit in the form of a cheque, bank transfer (BACS payment) or via Paypal. Once payment is made and picture is approved, I will give you an estimated completion date. A typical portrait takes me one week depending on complexity and workload. If you require the drawing by a certain date, please let me know.
Final review and payment:
When the portrait is completed, I will send you a proof to ensure you’re happy with it. The remaining balance, along with postage fees (£6 for UK recorded delivery), is due before the final artwork is shipped.
If you would like me to sketch a portrait of your child then please email me your favourite photograph. I will ask for a small deposit and will email you a scan of the portrait to check that you are happy.
